Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Fez – Welcome & Transfer

Upon your arrival at Fez Airport, your journey begins. Our team will meet you at the terminal and arrange a private transfer to your riad in the heart of the medina.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore the city. If you arrive early, take a leisurely stroll through Fez’s historic streets before settling in for the night.

Day 2: Exploring the Rich Heritage of Fez

Fez is a city of rich history and intricate alleyways, best discovered with an expert guide. In the morning, a certified guide will lead you through the medina’s two main districts—Fez el-Bali and Fez el-Jedid—showcasing iconic sites such as the Nejjarine Square, the Al-Attarine and Bou Inania madrasas, the Karaouine Mosque (exterior only), the Jewish Mellah, and the vibrant tanneries.

The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace perhaps shop for the city’s renowned ceramics, textiles, and leather goods, or simply relax in a traditional café. Enjoy another restful night in your riad.

Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Monkey Forest – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi Dunes

Your journey to the desert begins as you depart Fez and head south. The first stop is Ifrane, a picturesque town known for its European-style chalets and alpine scenery. From here, we venture into the Ifrane National Park, home to majestic Atlas cedars and playful Barbary macaques.

As we descend through the Middle Atlas, the landscape gradually transforms into an arid expanse. The Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and small farms, guides us toward Erfoud—a town famous for its prehistoric fossils.

Upon reaching Merzouga, you’ll embark on a camel trek (or opt for a 4x4 ride) across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. The journey leads to a luxury desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with Berber tea, enjoy a traditional dinner, and spend the night under a sky illuminated by endless stars.

Day 4: Nomadic Encounters & Desert Adventures

Wake up early to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. After returning to Merzouga, the adventure continues with a visit to Khamlia, where you’ll experience the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa music.

Next, we drive along the rugged trails once used in the Paris-Dakar Rally, passing abandoned French colonial villages and historic kohl mines. A special highlight of the day is meeting nomadic families, learning about their traditional lifestyle of herding and desert survival.

After taking in panoramic views of Erg Chebbi, we return to Merzouga for a restful evening at a desert hotel.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Leaving the vast desert behind, we journey toward the lush valleys of southern Morocco. A stop in Rissani offers a glimpse into its traditional medina and bustling market, where locals still arrive by donkey.

Continuing along the Dades River, we reach the Todra Gorges—a dramatic canyon with towering rock walls. After exploring this natural wonder, we drive through scenic Berber villages before arriving at a charming riad in the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

The day begins with a visit to the Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant damascena roses and artisanal rose-based products. Next, we arrive in Ouarzazate, home to the Atlas Film Studios and the well-preserved Kasbah of Taourirt.

A highlight of the day is the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village that once served as a key stop for caravans traveling the trans-Saharan trade route.

From here, we ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters). As we descend, lush valleys welcome us to Marrakech, where we check into a riad for the night.

Day 7: Discovering Marrakech

Marrakech, known as the "Red City," is a vibrant blend of history and modernity. A local guide will lead you through the city's top attractions, including the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque (exterior visit).

The lively souks and the legendary Jemaa el-Fna Square offer an immersive cultural experience, with snake charmers, storytellers, and local artisans. The afternoon is yours to explore further, shop for souvenirs, or relax in a traditional hammam.

Enjoy a final night in your riad.
